New Cars: Are Dealerships the Only Option?

Buying a new car is an exciting process. You get to pick out a shiny, new vehicle that has all the latest features and that no one has ever driven. It’s a major purchase, and one that will stay with you for years to come.

Whether you are thinking of buying a rugged Jeep or a family friendly Mazda 5, when you think of buying a new car, you may automatically think of going to a car dealership. However, this isn’t your only option. Consider checking some of these options for buying your next new car:

Classified Listings

When you think of the classified listings, you may think that previously owned cars are your only option. While the car may technically be used, it’s possible to buy a mostly used car from the classifieds. Someone may have bought a new car then decided that it wasn’t the right purchase or suddenly faced the need for cash immediately. The car may only have a few hundred miles on it and may only be a few months old. You’ll save a lot of money while getting what is essentially a new car. You can save the most on higher-end vehicles like the Mazda 6.

Car Auctions

Some dealers send their cars to auction when they don’t sell. If you can gain access to these auctions, you might be able to get a great deal on a new car. You will be at the mercy of bidding, so if other buyers have their eye on the same car, you’ll end up paying more. However, if you competition is low, you can end up getting a real steal on the car.

Online Auctions

Some owners or small car dealers take their vehicles to online auction marketplaces to sell them. You’ll be faced with the same bidding issue, so look for listings that have low competition. You’ll also need to look for listings in your area or pay the shipping fees.

Car dealerships aren’t your only option for buying a new car. If you are persistent, you can find a great deal on a new or nearly new car in the classifieds or at auction. Just make sure you do your research when buying any car, just as you would at a dealership. You want to make sure the deal you get isn’t too good to be true. With a successful transaction, you’ll get a great car that will last you many years to come.
